East  6 - Whetstone 3

Eastmoor 26 - South 0
a 20 yard touchdown pass from Terrance Drakeford.  Drakeford also ran for a 4 yard touchdown.  
Pead  finished the game with 18 rushes for 146 yards and two scores.

Marion Franklin  40 - Africentric 6
Marion Franklin moves to 3-1 against a very talented Africentric team.  Our newest reporter
Chandler Tennant was in attendance for this match up.  Let's see what he had to say:

John Goins of Marion-Franklin scored on a 15 yard interception return on the Africentric first drive.  Jeremy hill of
Marion-Franklin threw three touchdown passes in the first half.  One to Mark Thorpe on the goal line for a TD  yard
pass,  one to Chase Fraley for 20 yards, and one to Tim Neloms Jr. for a 30 yards.  Ryan Smoot of Africentric
scored on a five yard run.  When Africentric got back to the goal line Travonn Moore of Marion-Franklin picked it off
in the end zone for a touchback.  Tim Neloms Jr. of Marion-Franklin also scored a 25-yard touchdown off of a
blocked punt.  Bernie Agnew of Africentric just didn't have anything going his way.  Josh Anderson of
Marion-Franklin had another big week running the ball finishing with 125 rushing yards.

Beechcroft 34 - Mifflin 20
Standout running back Darrion Cordell started the game off with a bang returning the game's
opening kick off 90 yards for a score.   Quarterback Marvin Stewart of Beechcroft threw three
touchdowns (32, 6, 25), two of them to West Virginia commit Julian Miller.  Senior Martez Hudson
returned a blocked punt for a 10 yard score.

Independence 48 - Briggs 0
After opening the season with one of the states toughest schedule's the Sixers were able to get
win number one against the Briggs Bruins.  Ricardo Ross opened up the second half with an 80
yard kickoff return for a touchdown.  The Sixers would go on to score 28 more points in the third to
put away the Bruins.   6 of those 28 points came on a Tony Lovelace 50 yard interception return.
The League's leading rusher Luther Nicholas scored two times for 2 and 20 yards and ended the
day with 190 rushing yards.  Ryan Jones of the Sixers returned two fumbles for scores of 46 and
47 yards.  

West 13 - Walnut Ridge 6
No stats were submitted.

Brookhaven 43 - Linden 8
Brookhaven picks up its second win of the season to even their record to 2-2.  The Bearcats got
offense from several members of the team on route to scoring 43 points.  They were led by
Cameron Brown (103 rushing yards) and Aquante Braswell (2 touchdowns).  Linden scored on a
Casey Hood to Derrick Chattman touchdown of 15 yards.
