scored 34 first half points to knock off East 40-14.  East opened up the game with an 81-yard kickoff return by T.C. Turner.  Eastmoor then

touchdown reception.   Washington scored on runs of 1 and 2 yards in the second quarter and Anthony Keels received a 42-yard pass from

Game Write Up:
Walnut Ridge had many, many changes.  Walnut Ridge didn't start off the game in the best way; it's hard trying to come back from a 16-0
deficit or a 23-6 deficit.  If Walnut Ridge wants to make noise in the playoffs, they need to improve as the weeks progress.  The front 7 on the
defense is very nice, but their DB's need a lot of work.  The receivers are okay, however their line is what they are having trouble with.  Every
time, QB A. Busbee dropped back to throw a pass, two defensive ends where in his face.  Brandon Rice had a nice career high kick return of
99 yards.  Walnut Ridge failed again just barely to St. Charles with a final score of 26-20.  St. Charles put up 26 points on Walnut Ridge in the
first game of the season and nobody scored more then 20 points against the Scots last season.  Also, the Scots hurt themselves frequently
throughout the game; they threw an interception  inside the 20 (not red zone), had a punt blocked in the red zone and got to the 11 yard line(the
red zone) and could not get the ball in.  The Scots had the ball with 2 minutes left in the game, but penalties killed the Scots.  Hopefully they
will have a better game against Mifflin.

Game Write Up:
The visiting Beechcroft Cougars traveled east to play a Whitehall football team that hasn't won a game in 3 years, 25 game losing steak going
into last night. Beechcroft scored early and often as senior QB Joe Simpson ran the ball into the endzone from two yards out less than two
minutes into the game. Beechcroft used a running attack with junior RB's Wallace Hale and BJ Watkins trading off on carrying the ball down
the field, with Hale carrying it in from 13 yards out late in the 1st quarter and BJ Watkins from 4 yard out early in the 2nd quarter.

The defense was a power all night, many times forcing the Rams offense into 3rd and long. Midway thru the 2nd quarter junior Larez Harper
picked off a Whitehall pass and returned it 30 yards for a TD. With less than 40 seconds remaining in the first half, the Beechcroft offense
faced a 4th and 5 from the Rams 46 yard line. Beechcroft spread it out and sent junior Austin Carter deep, as he was wide open for a 46 yard
TD pass from Joe Simpson. Beechcroft went into the lockerroom at the half with a 35-0 lead.

Early in the 3rd quarter sophomore RB Dairon Glover carried the ball in from 3 yards out to make the lead 42-0, which ended up being the final
as the Beechcroft defense held on for the shutout. The Beechcroft JV did make a couple drives deep into Whitehall territory, but couldn't
convert either for scores.
